About Us

In 1935, a pharmacist in the Little Five Points area of Atlanta, Georgia began to look beyond his family-owned and operated drug store. Wanting to offer his wife, Ruby, and his daughter, Nell, more than the grind of city life, the pharmacist moved his family to Yorkville, GA, a town so small that — to this day — it doesn’t even have its own post office.

There, among the tall oaks and red clay of Northwest Georgia, this pharmacist opened a sawmill, a general store and a chenille bedspread factory. He named the factory after his wife and then only daughter, and so Ru-Nell was born.

The Ru-Nell of yesteryear employed over 100 people and made items such as rugs, bath mats, bedspreads, children’s play suits, bridal underpinnings, hoopskirts, slips, crinolines, bridal bags, rug bags and, of course, personalized garment bags.

Sadly, the original Ru-Nell manufacturing factory burned to the ground in a tragic accident. Shortly after, in 1958, Dot, the youngest daughter and new owner, rebuilt the factory and began producing products for the bridal industry.

Still family-owned and operated, Ru-Nell continues to manufacture a wide range of garment covers, unique packaging, and specialty promotional items. Keep checking back for new updates and remember - we've got you covered!
